New Scotland is very excited to welcome new and returning members to Edinburgh and announce our new semester plans. We hold classes in Ceilidh, Highland and Step dancing for beginners, intermediates and experienced dancers.
This semester’s classes will run from the 18th September until the 14th December 2023.
All our classes will be held in person at the Pleasance (EH8 9TJ) or at 5/2 Bristo Place (EH8 9AL). You can also join via Zoom call – please e-mail us a day before the class you want to attend online to sign up.
Mondays
Step Beginners: 19:00-20:00, Lomond Room (Pleasance)
Step Returners: 20:00-21:00, Lomond Room (at least 1 semester of experience)
Tuesdays
Intermediate/Advanced Country Dance: 18:30-20:00, The Venue Side B (5/2 Bristo Place)
Beginner Ceilidh and Country: 20:00-21:30, same venue
Thursdays
Advanced Highland: 17:30-19:00, Upper Hall (Pleasance)
Beginner Highland: 19.15-20.15, Torridon Room (Pleasance)
Open Highland Practice (Intermediate/Advanced): 20:15-21:00, Torridon Room (Pleasance)
Class prices:
Members: £3
Non-Members: £5
10-Class Passes (£30)
If you want to drop in across many different classes, instead of paying at each class, society members can also purchase 10-Class-Passes for £30, which you can get signed and 10 classes hand in for a free 11th class.
Dance Style Pass (£27)
If you are committed to one particular style of dance, society members can also get a class pass to all classes in that dance style this semester for £27 total.
